LXXXII.

and our tents flew away.
the crowded dawn and i found you —
found the same scattered wide haven
shelter of daybreak reaching

like our secret stellar wake
like cold morning canopy
like sunroof surfing wild
back to our rendezvous at nighttide

thank you for the sand
for shedding skin and a soul
for the window wreck, i've let him go
to find a flume and wave afar

a number of thoughts find a voice in my mind
but today and to you what i say is goodbye
